Strengthening the way Church of Christ-affiliated children's homes care for orphans and vulnerable children and families.
Driven by the McCoys' personal experiences with adoption and supporting orphans, the foundation is sponsoring a pilot project that aims to improve the quality of orphan care by fostering a network for sharing resources, evaluating how well these homes meet the United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child, and expanding residential care to include family-based care options such as family reunification, kinship care, foster care, and adoption.

The pilot project is a collaboration between the McCoy Family Foundation and A Child’s Hope Foundation, and includes monthly virtual roundtables, site visits, a conference, assessment and improvement roadmaps, and fundraising. The goal is to create a collaborative network dedicated to high-quality Christian care for children and families, and potentially expand the project to more Church of Christ-affiliated children’s homes in the future.

One of the most valuable lessons was understanding that some children prefer to live with their families. Before, we thought that once they arrived at our children's home, our duty was to care for them here. But today we believe that, if possible and safe, the best thing to do is to help their families so they can welcome them back. We now understand that to help, we don't just have to follow one model of care. Helping a child also means letting them go, putting their well-being first."
